Twilight Earth Celebrates its 1 Year Anniversary

Twilight Earth

Twilight Earth Celebrates it’s 1 year anniversary. How we started and how we got to where we are. With special thanks to those who have helped make us a success.

One year ago, Twilight Earth started out with 1 guy, a love for the environment and a copy of Word Press for Dummies. I didn’t know the first thing about blogging, but I had a need to write, and to share my love for our planet.

Many of you have probably heard me say, or read my thoughts on Air, Water and Soil. I believe that they should be clean, and that they are basic human rights. I believe that Environmentalism is not so much about protecting the planet, as it is about protecting ourselves.

Like everything else I do, I attacked it, and over time, I became “we” with the addition of Derek Markham as an equal partner. Derek and I invested in a new venture and acquired Eco Tech Daily. Sure, we worked hard, but all of the credit goes to you, our readers. So I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the hundreds of thousands of you who have read what we have to share, have helped spread that word and who support us and the planet in word and deed.

Special thanks:

to Wendy Gabriel, How You Eco, Sean Daily, Bob Williamson, and Christopher Gabriel for the the online,  podcast, and on air interviews and discussions.

to all of our followers on Twitter, who have been more than generous in their support of our mission to inform while building community.

to the thousands of Websites who have linked to us or decided that our articles were of a high enough quality, to carry on their own sites.

to the Twitter morning crew, Robin Shreeves, Bethe Balmeras and  Danielle Brigada

to David Quilty, our head writer at Eco Tech Daily. He’s one helluva good human. Thank you bro!

To the websites we aspire too, Tree Hugger, Mother Nature Network, Planet Green, Monga Bay, Elephant Journal, and many others

to our Green (and Blue) American Idols, Shea Gunther (who whether he knows it or not inspired me to keep plugging away at it. He’s the Grand Daddy of Green Blogging and he deserves that distinction), Alexandra and Phillipe Cousteau, Daryl Hanna, Bill McKibben, Mariel Hemingway, and many others. Thank you for for supporting us on Twitter and thank you for the things you do.

and to the morning Coffee Club. (You know who you are) You guys and gals have been instrumental in the growth of our little website. Thanks to each of you.

What does the future of Twilight Earth (and Eco Tech Daily) look like? We’ll were hoping to share some super exciting news in the next month or so as far as our online plans. In addition, we are planning on doing more activism work, attending more environmental forums and venues, a few speaking engagements, and working with not only a great online community of environmentally minded people, but with people who are just learning about sustainability and what it means to protect their families through protecting our planet.

Thank you all, and here’s to another great year!

You guys, and this site, rock! No thanks needed my friend. Twilight Earth is excellent, thoughtful writing from people who care about the direction we as a people are going with respect to this little planet we live on.

And to mix in the sensational Photo Sunday…coming here is like going to one’s favorite amusement park.

Congratulations. I love your site and I’m glad I found it through Twitter. Yes, I too love the Photo Sunday, especially the most recent one on dragonflies. You inspired me to do something similar at my own site yesterday on Kansas mammals so I credited you for the inspiration.

My year 2 take you to new heights in support of our wonderful, precious Earth.

Thank you all so very much for your congratulations! We so appreciate the community of “people who care” that we have joined in the last year.

Take a look around. The people who commented to this article are some of the tops in the Ecosphere.

We’re honored to work with you, write for your, share with you and make a difference with you, every single day.
