What Could be Finer than to be a Tweed Rider? DC Tweed Ride

tweed ride

The first annual “tweed ride” took place in Washington DC on Sunday. Whats a Tweed Ride? It’s a trend that’s catching on in Europe and the U.S.

The idea: Sometimes it’s cooler (fashion-wise) to dress up like a dandy or a quaintrelle than to be outfitted in more modern gear.

Tweed-clad cyclists congregated on H St. NE and pedaled leisurely through the District, winding up at Marvin on 14th and U St. for a post-ride shindig.

Looks like DC is the place to be. What fun – tweed, bikes, and tea. That photo at the top scared me – did she see a ghost – but the video was fun.

This is so much better than that naked ride you wrote about a few months ago.

Although naked people on Bikes are always funny.
