Bringing reusable bags to the store is a very green choice, but it’s easy to forget these solutions at home. Invest in compact bags that can fit into your pocket, like Baggu Set of Six Reusable Shopper Bags by Danny Seo. The bags are extremely lightweight, but strong enough to hold up to 50 pounds of groceries; Repurpose a stainless steel coffee thermos and use it to keep other things warm instead, such as soup or macaroni and cheese; and Leave shoes at the front door to avoid dragging in dirt, chemicals and other grimy substances into the home. To detoxify them, place shoes on top of a stack of newspapers and stuff the insides of the shoes with newspaper as well. The newsprint will absorb dirt, moisture and odor. QVC is also scheduled to premiere Portico Natural Bed and Bath, an assortment of 100 percent organic linens, towels and bedroom accents, presented by model and activist Summer Rayne Oakes. The multimedia retailer will also offer its customers Earth Smart Jewelry, a collection of sterling silver jewelry items made out of recyclable materials. QVC’s Earth Day programming lineup will feature a variety of energy-saving and/or green items. Products will be available through QVC while supplies last.
