A beautiful morning spent at Brandywine Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park
I recently recieved an E-mail from Anthony McCune. Anthony said he had some pretty good pictures of waterfalls, and enjoying our Photo Sunday feature, he asked if I would like to use them. Pretty good? They are great! Here they are. The words, are Anthony’s own. More on Anthony at the end of the article.
This morning we went to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and visited Brandywine Falls. After 20+ years I consider this one of the best things about Northeast Ohio.
One of the great things about Brandywine Falls is an opportunity to get an up close look. Of course that’s also a temptation that can cause problems.
There’s a bridge where you can watch the Brandywine Creek. This was a day you could see the water was flowing with more vigor than normal….
There were a few days of rain earlier in the week. That’s become a good barometer of when to visit Brandywine Falls, if you want to see it with a lot of water.
You can tell by this shot of white water at the bottom of the falls how intense the flow of water was. It didn’t subside much going downstream, we could hear Brandywine Creek long before we ever heard the falls.
At one point we walked across the bridge and along the side of the valley where the Brandywine Inn is located. There’s only one opening in the trees, but it provides a wonderful view of Brandywine Falls….
If you’re ever in Northeast Ohio, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a must see and you’ll want to be sure to check out Brandywine Falls.
I mentioned earlier that we were the only visitors at Brandywine Falls this morning. While that’s true I should mention that there was one resident, watching us….
Anthony is the host and author of The Lives and Times. Anthony has given us access to many of his photo’s. Thank you Anthony!
If you would like to volunteer nature photos to run on our weekly Photo Sunday series, please sent them (and a bit about yourself) to adam at twilightearth dot com.
