I updated my post to clarify about the 'ownership' - Nowhere does it state that share owners will actually own a part of PNG.

I don't see how you can call the advertising fraudulent and exploitative. Big oil? Exploitative. Big hotels and the military-industrial complex? Exploitative. AIG, GM, Halliburton? Definitely fraudulent and exploitative. I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

As far as Our Planet Retreats? Go email the team, hit them up on the chat feature of the website, and decide for yourself.

And further, this is a blog - some news, some opinion. We are not an investment advice firm, nor are we liable for our readers financial choices. If you think that people are looking to Twilight Earth for that level of authority, then I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you...

Have you looked into the history of eco-tourism development, conservation projects, and sustainable development in PNG? One thing that immediately stands out as false here is the promise that any outsider could "own" any part of PNG. The land is owned in its entirety by the people who live on it. This neccesitates careful, intricate and delicate negotiations with people who are very a very different culture and have very different expectations of a business venture. This project seems ill-thought out at best and the advertising is bordering on fraudulent and exploitative. I'm surprised that you aren't more protective of your blog readers and wouldn't at least do a little research on Google about the realities on the ground in PNG and the history of these kind of endeavors. PNG is not Jamaica; South America, Tahiti or really any other place in the world. Its land tenure laws are unique. Any business is 100% dependent on the good will of the local community and it is very, very hard to ensure that and make a profit in the Western sense. I would entreat you to have a little look into the history of these projects before you blindly advice people to invest their time or effort or travel to PNG. PNG is not a country that is kind to amateurs or those who have not studied in depth the complexities of the reality on the 3rd World, specifically the 3rd World in Oceania and the Western Pacific.
