One Million Acts of Green: The Power of People Coming Together

I love big ideas. Especially ones that are working for positive change in our world. One Million Acts of Green is one of those superb movements that I wish I thought of.  Sponsored by Cisco and Green Nexxus, One Million Acts of Green is based on the idea that change starts with one person, and when we each take action and work for change together, that power of change is multiplied.

Just what exactly is an ‘Act of Green’?

An Act of Green is an opportunity to help the environment. It’s you reducing your greenhouse gas emissions. It’s your contribution to fighting global warming. It may be something simple like changing your light bulbs – swapping out the old ones for the new twirly ones – or it could be something big like building a windmill to help power your home. Either way, it’s up to you. It’s about bringing people together to help the environment. It’s about reaching One Million Acts of Green, one act at time.

And how does it work?

It’s simple. Pick an item from the list. Click on it, and you’ll be taken to a page for that act. In the middle of that page click the “Pledge” button. If you want more information, browse the Act descriptions, or watch the videos, check out the pictures or leave a comment. Once you’ve added one act, come back again and do another, tell your friends, post it to Facebook. Together we can get to One Million Acts of Green, one act at a time.

Together, we can have a huge positive effect on the health of our planet. Join One Million Acts of Green today and come together for change.
